Terms of Service
Effective September 20, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using fortem.dev or installing a Fortem build, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Current service
Fortem is a local Kubernetes incident-investigation and operations application. Free builds inspect one active cluster context. Paid capabilities, platform support, code signing, notarization and support levels apply only when they are published with a build or agreed separately in writing.
3. Your environment
You choose the kubeconfig, context, namespaces and optional metrics endpoints used by Fortem. You are responsible for authorization to access them, for external authentication tools and VPN connectivity, and for protecting credentials on your workstation.
4. Management actions
Fortem starts read-only. If you explicitly enable management mode, you remain responsible for reviewing the exact context, namespace and object before confirming an action. Kubernetes RBAC and Fortem checks reduce risk but do not replace operational review, backups or change controls.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the website or software unlawfully, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, misrepresent your identity or use Fortem against infrastructure you are not authorized to operate.
6. Intellectual property
The Fortem name, logo and website content belong to Cybrix, LLC or their licensors. Software license terms distributed with a build or source repository control use of that software.
7. No warranty
THE WEBSITE, DEMO AND SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT ERROR-FREE OPERATION OR COMPATIBILITY WITH EVERY CLUSTER.
8. Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CYBRIX, LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST DATA, PROFITS OR INFRASTRUCTURE COSTS. TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100.
9. Pro license
A Fortem Pro founding license is a one-time individual software license for up to ten cluster contexts and three devices. It includes twelve months of software updates. A build released during that update window may continue to be used afterward. Update renewal is optional. License files are signed and verified locally; a license does not require Fortem to receive cluster credentials or telemetry.
10. Teams and payments
Stripe may process checkout and billing information. Pro does not renew automatically unless a later checkout says otherwise. Teams scope, supported capabilities, annual term, start date and fees are agreed in writing before billing. Published starting prices are not a promise that an unimplemented capability is available.
11. Law and changes
Wyoming law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update the terms; material changes apply prospectively. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Natrona County, Wyoming.
